Lesson 76 — Jumping Step Knee Strike

Continuing from the previous lesson's "Rising Strike with Follow-up Punch" and its chain of pressing advances and close-range control, this lesson further deepens the close-body offensive, transitioning into the more forceful and pressuring technique of the "Jumping Step Knee Strike."

Building on the foundation of continuous hand techniques, both hands swiftly wrap and clamp around the opponent's neck. Through upper body pulling and command of the center of gravity — combined with the explosive upward momentum of the jumping step — the knee drives directly into the centerline vital points, creating a unified upper-and-lower striking force.

The lesson also approaches the technique through the lens of two-person grappling, analyzing how to leverage angle and center-of-gravity disruption to break the opponent's balance and take them down — embodying the combat essence of Gōng Lì Quán: "control the person in motion, throw the person through momentum."

This lesson emphasizes the unity of hands, body, and footwork as one — power follows intent, and attack carries control within it. Only through this integration can the true power of close-range combat be fully realized.
